Why take the time to redesign something rather than just buy
something new? There are so many reasons, here are just a few:

Turning a piece of clothing or a home accessory you already own into
something new means you don’t have to spend full price in a store. All those
small savings add up to quite a lot of money over time

Okay, so painting a lampshade is not going to solve the issue with global
warming, but it will mean one less piece of trash in a landfill somewhere. I’ve
redesigned clothing, shoes, pillows, silverware, picture frames, blankets, coats
and so much more…that is a lot of space left open to be a field instead of a pile
of trash.

If you live in or have ever lived in an apartment, you know that storage space
is as valuable as insulated walls and high ceilings. You may want new pillows
for spring but have nowhere to store your winter pillows; no need to get rid of
anything, just create a solution to use the same pillows year round with a new
look each time you need a change. This works with curtains, lampshades, and
accessories as well as in your closet with sweaters, t-shirts and shoes.
Sometimes redesign is just repurposing.

Tap into your creativity. I assure you that when you finish a
project you will be so proud of the result. Filling your home with pieces of art
is so fulfilling; surround yourself with one-of-a-kind pieces that others can’t
but in stores. Make your home your own.
